How to Create an Organized Toy Space with IKEA Clear Storage Boxes

As a toy distributor, I’ve collected more and more product samples over time—and I’m always thinking about how to organize them in a way that’s both functional and easy to manage.

I don’t want to cram every toy into the playroom, because too many options can actually distract kids and make them less focused. At the same time, I want my children to be able to quickly find and access a toy when they suddenly think of it—without having to dig through bins.

That’s why I use @ikea @ikea_taiwan clear storage boxes to sort and store toys. They help keep everything neat, visible, and easy to use.

⭐️

Label by Category or Brand

My system is simple: one clear box per brand or toy type—for example:
• Maileg mouse family
• Grapat wooden parts
• Grimm’s blocks

This prevents toys from different categories from mixing and makes cleanup a breeze.
The best part about IKEA’s clear boxes? You can see everything inside without opening them, so even kids can help tidy up without putting things in the wrong place.

🧩 Sort by Use for Better Access

In addition to brand sorting, I also organize by function or activity, such as:

• LEGO & @kellner.steckfiguren:
Each gets its own container to keep small pieces together and prevent parts from getting mixed with other building sets.

• Puzzles & Board Games:
Puzzles go in flat, wide boxes to avoid missing pieces, while board games get a dedicated shelf. This teaches kids to take one game at a time and stay focused during play.

• Clay & Craft Materials:
Since clay dries out easily, I use airtight boxes and store all tools like rollers and cutters in the same box for easy, complete access.

✨ Small Storage Boxes for Tiny Parts

I highly recommend IKEA’s stationery organizers like the GLIS or TILLSLUTA series.

They’re perfect for Kellner’s small German construction sets, which have lots of tiny parts. These boxes come with dividers to keep everything in place and prevent mess.

They also make great travel cases for Yoto audio players and cards—the size is just right, and they keep the cards flat and protected, while being compact enough to throw into a bag.

💡 Storage is Not Just About Tidying Up

Organizing toys isn’t just about making the room look nice—it’s about helping kids easily find, appreciate, and learn to take care of their things independently.

With a system of clear bins + brand-based sorting + small organizers, toys no longer pile up chaotically, and the whole home feels more peaceful and put-together.
